Jakarta, Banks are currently working to accelerate comprehensive service delivery. One approach to do this is to integrate services with the building of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in order to produce exceptional talent for the nation.

This is being done by PT Bank Mandiri Taspen, which has formally created a strategic alliance with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

Panji Irawan, President Director of Bank Mandiri Taspen, stressed that this relationship shows a tangible synergy between the banking industry and higher education as a hub for innovation.

"This signing is more than simply a ceremonial affair; it demonstrates our commitment to helping UGM's operations become more effective through integrated banking solutions. On the other hand, we will give opportunities for students to further develop their practical skills in the financial business," he stated in a news release issued on Sunday (April 12, 2026).

The bank is well-positioned to improve its services by offering liquidity management solutions, enhancing educational infrastructure, and transferring operating money via current accounts and deposits (SMARD).

It also offers payment options for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) and Single Tuition Fees (UKT) via a virtual account. Furthermore, it provides training programs to help lecturers and educational professionals prepare for retirement.

This relationship also offers internship possibilities for UGM students at Bank Mandiri Taspaen's network of offices, allowing them to obtain practical experience in the banking business.

Furthermore, scholarships are awarded to excellent students, as well as support for different university fundraising projects.

The Cooperation Agreement (PKS) initiative aims to foster future partnership prospects. Both sides earnestly believe that this partnership will result in a more mutually beneficial ecology between academia and industry, as well as a method of fostering the development of more competitive human resources capable of meeting future global problems."

Prof. Ova Emilia, Rector of Gadjah Mada University, hailed this collaboration as a wise and strategic step toward enhancing the financial ecosystem on campus.

According to her, this relationship, which has been in existence for than a decade, has proven to deliver several practical advantages and will now be expanded owing to its strategic relevance for the future. He also expressed gratitude for the collaboration's success, which has been doing really well thus far.

This collaboration is projected to not only improve efficiency in supporting operations at UGM, but also to contribute to the vision and purpose of "Golden Indonesia" by developing human resources that are considerably more competitive worldwide.

Furthermore, this relationship is unusual in that it gives direct support to retired UGM personnel. Various initiatives have also been created, ranging from internships to special programs for retired personnel.

UGM has also launched a variety of programs for retirees, such as the now-active Poswindu (Integrated Health Post) program and the provision of "Senior Homes" as activity spaces, allowing retired personnel to stay productive and empowered into the future.

"We sincerely hope that the steps initiated on this auspicious day will continue to provide many broad benefits to the community, the nation, and the country," he said.

In conclusion, UGM stated their hope that this relationship would be strengthened in the future with many such creative activities that would have a wide-ranging impact.
